Debo

Debo acabar esta página;
debo finiquitar este cuaderno;
debo convertirme en línea, en espiral, en tinta, en plástico;
debo recoger las formas gráficas;
debo hallar las funciones de los vocablos;
debo desaparecer entre sonidos sugeridos;
debo retener la neurona significativa;
debo exprimir el jugo del sintagma;
debo extraer la connotación derivativa…

Suspiro,
sustituyo aliento por inhalación de oxígeno
y expiro lenta, muy lentamente…

Debo constatar un silencio;
debo ser, estar, solazar, aliviar, concretar.
Debo, debo, debo.
Debo sustituir el semblante de lo fútil
por la simple permanencia.
O quizá solo, solo, debo quedarme quieta
y sonreír al movimiento
de mis manos, de mis piernas
y a los asentimientos de mi cabeza.

I must

They say that you must be brave. They say that you must imagine and be able to spin ideas and thoughts. They say that in order to construct you must go out to the street, experience and get to know the life that exists behind the door, that you see through the window. They say that you must read, watch films and series… ah, and that you must study. They say that you must be precise in what you feel. They say that you must lift the veil of deceit. They say that you must fabulate with the probable that is yet to come. They say that you must feel youth in your veins. They say that you must dare use your body and its six senses. They say that must not look back to the past, unless it is to rescue a story that is worth it. They say that you must neither look to the future for too long. They say that you must just look at the present.

I must finish this page;
I must close this notebook;
I must turn into a line, a spiral, ink, plastic;
I must collect the graphic shapes;
I must find the functions of the terms;
I must disappear among suggested sounds;
I must hold the significant neuron;
I must squeeze the juice of the syntagm;
I must extract the derivative connotation…

I sigh,
I replace breath for oxygen inhalation
and I exhale slowly, very slowly…

I must validate a silence;
I must be, stay, relax, relieve, specify.
I must, I must, I must.
I must change the face of futility
for plain presence.
Or maybe I must only stay still, just that,
and smile to the movement
of my hands, of my legs
and to the nods of my head.
